This painting was done for the Madera Ag show, 2014. Entered in the Livestock category, I wanted to use 3 nursery rhymes about sheep as subjects in the painting. You see “Mary Had a Little Lamb”, “Little Bo Peep”, and “Baa Baa, Black Sheep” in this whimsical painting. When the painting was finished and ready to frame, a frame catalog arrived in the mail with a new black and white frame with curly spirals on it and my decision to take an already “over the top” painting a little further over the top was made. I think it had to be. 🙂
