“Morning, Noon, and Night” is a painting that was done for the 2013 Madera Ag Show. It was entered in the “Farm Machinery and Buildings” category and won first place and a monetary prize. It also sold during the time that the show was hanging at Circle Gallery in October/November 2013. This painting was a “Triple Whammy!”
In this painting, I tried to include every type of farm “structure” I could think of from the barn to the house to the doghouse and birdhouse to the pigpen, chicken coop and more. I had a great time thinking them up, planning where to put them, and painting them. The sign painted on the red barn (“Thank a Farmer, 3 X a Day!”) is an important message with widespread appeal to farmers and consumers across the United States and that is why I incorporated it into the painting.
